The people behind Zefiro Interiors

Before we talk about fabrics, we look at the room.

That is where beauty is decided: in the light, in the hours the room is used, in what will still hold up in ten years. Everything else comes after.

Zefiro’s is a family story, because it was born from the passion and commitment of one family: ours. It all began with a furniture studio, run by two art history professors. The happy connection with the world of art helped the store from the very beginning to distinguish itself, first in furniture and then in the sale of upholstery fabrics: at Zefiro’s, yesterday as today, you don’t just find products, but rather a constant search for beauty.

Zefiro belongs to a family: Fiorenza, Piero and their daughter Bianca. Giulia works with them in the atelier.

Bianca. She runs the atelier. She studied interior design and worked in China and Germany in quality control for major fashion brands before taking over the family business. It is a trade that teaches you to see a flaw before the client does. She follows every project from the first site visit to the installation.

Fiorenza. Her mother. She has been furnishing homes for more than forty years: she is the one who taught us to look at a room before talking about fabrics.

Piero. Her father. The rugs are his: when one is unrolled on the floor, his is the first opinion.

Giulia. She works with us in the atelier. She arrived recently, and asks the questions the others had stopped asking.

What changed, and what did not

The shop has moved house several times. Piazza Farinata degli Uberti was larger, but it was a shop; since 2025 we have been in Via Ridolfi, in a smaller space built for working: somewhere to sit and talk, and somewhere to open the sample books and look at them without hurrying.

This is the form we arrived at: a textile interiors atelier. Here you don’t just choose a fabric — you build a project, and every project is cut for one house only.

What has not changed is the order of things: first you look, then you choose.

Bianca took over the business after studying interior design, with the idea of carrying it forward without dismantling what her parents had built.
